Ok, here is my little motorrad

I love her, but she is giving me some trouble.

First I made a seal been changed, the one beside the rotor; had a little oil leak; did not gone.

Regarding that I have read about some holes appearing on that side of crackcase, related to fabrication; it is not worrying me by now, leak is minimal and no drop at all comes from it.

Next I had a scare riding her; swingarm seal guard (you know, it's the piece next to front sprocket that prevents chain to go over swingarm) exploded, went on sprocket, etc.. you can imagine the rest of story. Did not hurt myself, anyway.

I got a new one from Yamaha; as chain's master link seemed welded I put on a new one, and changed sprockets too.

So happy.. oh, then kick start axle broke!! oh no..

Take in mind this happened in about two months!! I am a patient guy, but there are a LOT of issues, lot of money and lot of rinding time that will not come back.

Not last one, I think worst had to come; I have 'that' oil cover bolt issue; threads has gone! I drived to get just a drop from it, but I know there is a problem here and triyng to imagine best step to take now.

Oh, yes, althougth drive chain has not 3000km I do not know when last valve adjustment was done; was hoping to give her to Yamaha for making this job this month, but other issues are stealing my money to put on other things.

This is my first bike, I really like it and hope she will be my bike for years.

I am trying to convince myself these are things will happen with an '87 motorcycle; am I too willing?

Thanks for reading and comments, kind regards, Freundliche Grüße,

Optical a nice bike.
technical --- bad luck Rolling Eyes

But now the most problems you can get with your XT are gone... Wink
Only the intake rubbers of the carburators(s) may be worn.

After the service you will get a got reliable bike.

Thank you, I think it's nice seeing too; I enjoy riding her a lot, a school bike for me easy to drive.

Yes, intakes is another thing I have in mind, I have seen in this forum some cheap options instead of original ones, and will go and try them, surely this winter if bike does not stop before again :)

I think will go to helicoil patch for that oil leak; my doubt is trying to do it myself (never used it); will ask first my car's mechanic if he will do it for me.

Have read not to push too deep helico in order to keep drain holes working, will keep reading a bit before going on.
