  • Oh good old netherlands !

Without "TÜV" you can do nearly all, what you want. 8)

The Supertrap - Sound must be great.
But it's a little bit of work on dyno , to find out how many disks you need for the best result.

  • We'll rumours about a system simmilar to the TüV are getting stronger, but actually, most worrying is the EG-ABE that this Supertrapp does not have, although it might well be less loud and better made then the original, it does not have this "E-keur" so I'm taking some chances.

Tuning will be a big day, because I will finally compare stock exhaust with and without the powernows, and then the IDS2 with and maybe without.

Btw the mp4 plays in quicktime

We're going to drill a hole in the Krümmer to put a sensor in it, only downside is the sensor adapter is kindof deep, so it will be an obstruction, great or small I don't know.

    Today received older IDS2's: http://baffo.home.dyndns.org/sptrpp/index.html

  • After 15 weeks of waiting I finally received the exhaust...but not the 611-4350 quiet one, no the 613-4350 race version (aaaargh)
    .

    .
To minimise the noise I installed it with only 6 discs (of the 8-10 recommended) but that was still too f#cking loud...so have to order a quiet core+packing somewhere, more pictures here

  • I paid top euro for it, so I think you would be better of buying this one

I'm in the process of buying the quiet core, so after that I can sell you the race core+packing if you want.
I ran the race with only 4 discs yesterday, and was a bit quieter but still too loud and noticed a major decrease in power. Then I took my nephews quiet exhaust and tried that with 6 discs and yes still loud, but acceptable and nice even.

    BTW seen this one http://cgi.benl.ebay.be/ws/eBayISAPI.d…item=8044405506

  • Well, I'm back
Friend of mine in the US bought a quiet core direct from supertrapp and send it to me. Much nicer and more quiet, I run it with 8 discs.
Got hold of a Kawasaki Z750 telefix gabelstabi (same ordernumber) but apparently they put a 1000 fork in or something so it was the wrong one, but once you have something you can modify it, so sawed of 2 parts, drilled a new hole, rethreaded the hole and now I have a working gabelstabi 8)
Already broke a frontwheel spoke on a speedbump, but the bump was rather steep & short and me attacking it with 90km/h didn't help either
On the dynorun it seemed that the floatbowl level was incorrect/leaking and after much thinking changed the float-needle-tube o-ring. (23hp and 28Nm)
And although I changed the jets to #125 and #110 with the needles at 4/5 (from the top) it still stutters at 4000rpm or half to 3/4 throttle... Not when cold but as soon as it warms up. If you give full throttle there is no problem. Any ideas?

  • I cutted the rear end of the original silencer due to a misposiotioning of the exhaust end pipe ( previous owner must have had something to do with it/)

Before trying to weld it back in the right position, I gave t a try and I fell in love immediately with the sound. As the TUV checks are rare in romania and I ride mostly on the hills and forrest it will be like this till the day it dies.

It seems to be altered somehow the mixture because it begins to start more heavily in the cold situation, but I am not shure about the carburetors status.

Try getting primary and secondary mainjets closer together. Try a #120 on the right carb and a #118 or #116 on the left carb(primary), that should help to balance the transition from primary to secondary carb which occurs right at 4000 rpm.

  • Changed it back to original 120 and 102 with needles in the middle position, mixture screw 2.5 and 8 discs in the supertrapp. Then changed back to enduro trim and sold it, bought another one for driving around when fixing this

and now that's the one I have left, just need to helicoil one threaded hole in the engine and then going to SuperMotard it as well
